Writing with Purpose

by Heather Goldsmith on February 20th, 2008

Purpose driven people are usually unstoppable. There’s a real passion and a sense of excitement being around people who know what their purpose in life is. Even if they’re wrong, but I’ve found they rarely are, there is energy emanating from these kinds of people.

I’ve found that writing with a sense of purpose brings meaning to my journal entries. This is one reason I dedicate each new journal to some purpose or goal. I write a statement identifying what I intend to use this journal for. Writing this statement is one of my Starting Rituals.

What about you? Have you discovered your purpose in life? Do you write in your journal with a clear purpose in mind, or do you write to fill in time? Why do you write a journal? Does writing a journal help you fulfill this purpose?
