Where Do You Like To Write in Your Journal?
Does it matter to you where you write in your journal? Must you be completely alone and at home where your privacy and security is assured? Or do you prefer being around lots of people and noise?
As a busy mother I do love to spend time alone writing in my journal, but I’ve discovered I must write when and where I can, otherwise my daily journal writing might never happen.
One thing I have noticed, though, is that my writing is deeper and more satisfying when I can concentrate on the writing alone and not have to worry what my kids are doing. For this reason I try to write in my journal when my little boy is asleep. The big kids know to leave me be when they see me with my journal in front of me.
These days I can concentrate nearly anywhere as long as I know my baby is sleeping or being watched by one of the other kids. But, my favourite places include my front verandah when the weather is good, at a beachfront cafe, stretched out on the bed or lounge, in any cafe with a long black coffee at my elbow and in the hushed quiet of my local library.
