What You Don’t Believe

I’ve written a few times on using prompts on what you believe and using Lyrics as Journal Writing Prompts, but today take a moment to write about what you don’t believe.
Write the words “I don’t believe…” at the top of the page and begin. You might need to write the entire sentence each time until you warm to the topic. Allow yourself to write whatever comes to mind, including the polite, the profane, the silly, the sensational, the crazy, the controversial. Don’t stop yourself until you feel you have exhausted the subject. Dig deep and find out what it is you really don’t believe. If you’re still finding it difficult, look through old magazines for images and words to create a collage for this journal entry.
I always find these kinds of journal writing prompts liberating. Sometimes coming at a topic from another angle can open the door to your thoughts faster. I hope you enjoy this journal writing prompt. Please leave any comments in the section below.
