Waiting
I picked up my mother from the airport this afternoon. She came in from Sydney, not where she lives, and arrived in peak traffic time here in Perth. I thought it wise to get there a little early, just in case. But that meant having to wait around some. I was fine, though, as I took along my journal and spent some time writing as I waited.
This is one reason I try to take my journal with me everywhere I go. You never know when you might need to wait. Having a book or magazine is good. If I’m reading a really gripping novel I might make sure I have that on hand to read while waiting.
But writing in my journal in a new or different environment adds something to my journal writing experience. Instead of ignoring my surroundings, I am noting them down. This makes a better opportunity for perfect recall of the moment when I reread the entry at a later time.
