Truth or Dare?
One of the blogs I read regularly is Shai Coggins. Her ideas are always interesting, informative and most often inspiring, especially when it comes to being creative. I couldn’t resist sharing a great journal writing prompt from her entry yesterday.
If you choose TRUTH, then answer this:
What’s your BEST childhood memory?
If you choose DARE, then take this challenge:
Whether you think of yourself as a creative person or not, declare at least ONE creative act that you believe you can do. (Say: “I use creativity in….” or “I am a creative…”)
Or, if that’s tough, then choose at least one creative act that you wish you can do. (Say: “I would like to be creative in…”)
You can join in on Shai’s blog, mine, or simply in your journal. Please leave a comment in the section below if you blog about this so I can have a read, too.

Truth: my most bestest childhood memory is of meeting Stormy, my first horse, and going for my first ride around our corral. lots and lots and lots of happy memories with that big grey gelding…
Dare: I am an Awesome embroideress, thanks to my mother, who (whom?) I never got the chance to thank for this skill. I took being able to ply a needle so for granted that I never thought to thank her.
and thank you too Heather, for pointing my way to Shai’s blog. too shy to leave a comment w/her, but I’ve left one with you earlier, and got such a positive response that I have no qualms about leaving another. I have gleaned many useful ideas from you!

Thanks for leaving your comments here. I’ll let Shai know. She is really an amazing woman, so don’t feel shy to get to know here through her blog, too. Thanks for writing something in response to the prompt. I love childhood memories myself. Thanks again for commenting. ;-)
