A Creative Journal

Solving Those Journal Making Problems

by Heather Goldsmith on October 14th, 2005

When I wrote about making my own journal I mentioned a solution to the problems I’d encountered. See the photo below for my answer to those problems.

The clips I used to solve my journal making problems

These clips, for want of a better word, are terrific. While the ones in the photo are great for a medium sized journal, they do come in different sizes and are available from stationary suppliers. Once I discovered these clips I could drill fewer holes in my finished hand made journal andopen and close them anytime. This meant I could add and remove paper whenever I felt like it.

The only problem is I don’t have a photo of a finished journal to show you. I’ve made several journals in this way, but have given them all away as gifts so far. I even have a small hand made journal ready to drill holes in as a gift for my husband. I promise a photo of that one once it’s done, though. Every recipient has loved the ability to refill the hand made journal or remove pages as needed.

I hope this helps in your own journal making endeavours.
