Purple Journal & Gel Pen
For my birthday this year hubby gave me a Border’s voucher. I spent an afternoon in the store looking through all kinds of books and things until I decided on a book, but I had to order it in. I knew hubby wouldn’t be happy if I came home from my little outing empty handed, so I picked up this gorgeous plush purple velvet journal and matching gel pen. It wasn’t like I really needed either of these presents, but I was able to sit and have a journal session as soon as I left the store. What fun journal gifts have you bought for yourself recently?

My best gift to myself was the upgrade of my ALPHASMART, which is an electronic journal of sorts :) I HATE handwriting (although I do some of it in my scrapbooks for historical purposes), so I absolutely LOVE my Alphasmart. It is also my instrument for writing my life stories.

Hi Dawn,
Sounds like a great tool for writing your journal on and life stories. Thanks for sharing with us. ;-)

I love fountain pens and at Borders they have a couple of disposalable fountain pens really cheap…in black and purple.
Actually, Borders is the site of one of my bi-weekly rituals. I go, usually on Sunday morning, and order a coffee and look through books and magazines for a couple of hours, writing down ideas and stories as they come to mind. This is “my” time.

Hi Judy,
I love the sound of your weekly ritual. I’m really enjoying having a Borders store in the city. I might be making my visits a regular thing and do similar to you. Thanks so much for leaving a message. ;-)
