Journal Art Inspires
I’ve only just come in a little while ago from the Perth Royal Show. This is a yearly event I don’t always get a chance to attend. This year my daughter wanted to go, so paid for her little brother and I to be there. After checking out all the regular things little boys would like to see my daughter and I had a chance to look at some of the things we were interested in.
One of those was the Bank West Open Art Exhibition. I always find art so inspirational. To see how someone else views the places I know and to take part in the expression of art breathes life into any creative spirit. This exhibit was no different.
One piece that really caught my eye was one simply titled Visual Journal. The work of art was presented as an open book and the painting worked on the two open pages. All I can say is that the piece deserved a prize, though it was one of the many outstanding works that didn’t. Of course, those winning places deserved them, too.
Here’s hoping some of you create visual journals good enough to enter into art exhibitions. I’m too tired to think of much else myself tonight.
