A Creative Journal

Getting Organised

by Heather Goldsmith on April 5th, 2007

For people who love to keep themselves organised a journal is a must. While I wouldn’t call myself the most organised person around, I do use my journal to get certain things in order; such as for planning what to pack when going away on a trip. I write a list in my journal, which I check off to make sure everything was included. I can also use this list to be certain I have everything going back into my suitcase.

Those four or five subject notebooks can be really handy if you’re this kind of person. You can use one section for personal stuff, another for school or work, another for lists and another for goals accomplished. I’m sure you can think of better uses.

Writers often enjoy these kinds of notebooks. The different sections are handy to keep information and ideas for novels, short stories, poetry and articles separate. Locating that certain piece is much easier when you already have it filed in a specific section of your journal.

Whatever your project or purpose give one of these notebooks a try. It could be all you need to get yourself organised.
