Freaky Friday #31
Today is Freaky Friday. If you need to know more about this journal writing challenge please read the First Freaky Friday entry.
For today’s challenge I want you to revisit your childhood, again. I know I spent more than my fair share of time in the principal’s office for some misdeed or another while I was attending high school. I’m guessing you might have been there a few times, too.
Today try to recall some of those times, or at least one time in particular. If it was an emotional event, that’s even better. Try not to simply outline the event. Go right back into what happened and why. Remember, it may seem trivial to you now as an adult, but this was life and death at the time.
Who was involved? Did your parents need informing? How did you feel about that? Were you the guilty party or falsely blamed? Was the punishment fair? Get as much detail down as you can.
At the time you probably felt that the adults involved were completely harsh, uninterested in your opinion or in knowing what really happened. Now I want you to step into the shoes of one of those adults. I’m thinking the principal, or whichever figure of authority dealt with you and your punishment. Rewrite the event from their perspective.
I hope you enjoy this journal writing challenge.
