Finding Time to Journal
Finding the time to write in a journal is probably the number one excuse people use for not enjoying this activity. Personally, like anything you really want to do, if you love it you’ll find time to do it.
But you may need to discover your love for writing in your journal in the first place. This is where you may need to review your day and find the best place to slot in journal writing. If you’re already busy in every moment, then perhaps something should go. Try this highly recommended time saving book:
Be willing to experiment by writing in your journal at different times of the day. Try writing first thing on rising, as Julia Cameron suggest with morning pages. Try mid-morning when the entire morning bustle is over. After eating your lunch is another good time, and so on.
We each have a better time for our thinking. I’m no morning person, yet when I write in my journal at that time I find myself planning and organising. The end of the day finds me in a more reflective mood. Find your best time and write in your journal then.
