Cool Op Shop Find

While out today my husband wanted to check out an op shop we’d be driving right by. I didn’t mind. The weather had turned quite cool and made me realise how much my little boy had grown, as all his long pants are now ankle freezers. Of course we found a lot of the usual, but op shops are places where it’s necessary to dig a little to find what you’re after, or at least what’s there.
It didn’t take too much looking around before I found Simple Abundance: A Daybook of Comfort and Joy by Sarah Ban Breathnach. I’ve never read this book, but know many have enjoyed the message, so I couldn’t leave it there for the price they were asking. Even if I don’t really enjoy the book I’m sure there’s something I can use. Journal writing is all about enjoying the simple things in life; like sitting and writing with pen and paper.
Please share your thoughts if you’ve read this book.

I got this book as a gift years and years ago. A good friend marked a particular day and then wrote a nice message in the space underneath it.
I loved it, although I don’t think I stuck with it a whole year.
One thing I did take from it was the idea of writing down what I’m grateful for every day.

I’ve had this for years, and I’ve always loved it. It was the first book I altered, and got a chance to take the altered book along to hear the author speak. She loved it, and wrote a lovely inscription in it, thanking me for adding beauty to her book. It’s on my bedside table, and I pull it out now and then when I need to remind myself what it’s all about!

Hi Dawn,
Thanks for letting me know. So far I haven’t done any more than open it the one time at the op shop, but I may try to read it each day; see how I go. Thanks for your comment. ;-)

Hi Paula,
How exciting to have met the author. Glad she approved of you altering her book, too. I’m even more interested in the book now I’ve had a little more feedback. Thanks for commenting. ;-)
