Calling All Notebook & Journal Collectors
I’ve already shared my journal collection so you know I’m also afflicted with the notebook collection bug. Here’s a challenge to all those who buy gorgeous journals and never write a word in them.
Okay, I know you don’t feel you could possibly write anything worthy of the beauty of those books. I’m guessing you’re probably correct. As soon as you’ve written anything you can pick it apart, write it better, or find a more elaborate way to pen those words. But you are you, just you, and anything you write first try is already imperfect. It’s okay to know that about yourself.
That said you still have a pile of lovely books you’ll never feel good enough to fill. One way to help you get over that feeling is to grab one of those books right now. Go on, I dare you. Don’t figure which one would be best. Just grab the one that appeals to you most, or the first one you see. Open it to the first or second page. Hey, any page will do.
You’ll need some kind of a writing implement. Grab a pen, pencil or a crayon if that’s closest. Now I want you to scribble. Yes, that’s what I said. Scribble on that page. Don’t think, just scribble, just like you did when you were a kid. My toddler is at this stage now. He fills entire pages with every available colour of crayon in fantastic, big-looping scribbles.
I hope you allow yourself to do this. Get right into it. Scribble more pages if it frees you up to use the journal. It is after all just paper. The journal may be fancy, but so what? You are worth a fine writing book. You are worth it because it is yours and something you will use now you’ve scribbled in the first page. Anything you write now has to be better than that.

I have a set of 5 ORIGINAL hand written journals
consisting of over 1400 pages of artistically scripted German text.
The journals reflect the times & what effect the events were having on this
teacher, his wife a midwife-bonesetter & family.
With over 400 pages translated & transcribed the accounts are personal &
historically reflective. A book of the religious thoughts of the author was
self published & a detailed description of the journals may be found thru TRAFFORD, the publisher of
The Quiet in the Land, by Henry Wieler. Any referrals on this matter & your
response would be appreciated. A rare & unique opportunity. LOOKING FOR BUYER!

Hi Arthur,
I was at first unsure if I should approve your comment, but hope you are genuine in your simple request for a buyer. I also hope this helps. The journals sound quite fascinating. Thanks for leaving a comment. ;-)
