Journal Art Inspires

I’ve only just come in a little while ago from the Perth Royal Show. This is a yearly event I don’t always get a chance to attend. This year my daughter wanted to go, so paid for her little brother and I to be there. After checking out all the regular things little boys would […]

Freaky Friday #27

It’s Freaky Friday once again. If you need to know more about this journal writing challenge please read the First Freaky Friday entry.
Tonight I watched a murder mystery film with the family. In the story someone was accused of a crime they did not commit. The person who dunnit, was eventually caught, but it got […]

Journal Poetry

Another style of journal writing I haven’t mentioned yet is to use poetry to express yourself. One of my reasons is simple reluctance. I personally have never used this technique. I have written poetry, and seen some go on to publication, but writing in a poetic voice is not something I use regularly inside the […]

What the Heck Is a Mandala?

I’ve read very little about mandalas in relation to journal writing, but the topic has come up too many times just recently. So, I did a little research, mostly for the sake of my own curiosity, and have gathered it together for your interest.
I first went to Wikipedia.org for their definition, which almost put […]

Rupert Everett Publishes Memoir

Adding to the news from yesterday, Rupert Everett is also having his memoir published, titled Red Carpets and Other Banana Skins: The Autobiography.
The link leads to a news story that is a little out of date. I couldn’t hook up to the link I found yesterday, but the book certainly has a title now […]

Eric Clapton’s Ex-wife To Publish Memoirs

Eric Clapton’s ex-wife Lori Del Santo is writing her memoirs. Apparently the work will focus mainly on their son Conor, who fell to his death in 1990, aged only four.
The tragic loss of his son inspired Clapton to write Tears in Heaven. Del Santo isn’t concerned how Clapton will view her writings.
Would you […]

Family Portrait

Today my family finally got around to posing for a family portrait at a local photographer. They had a deal to lure us in, but we didn’t mind. It’s been a long time since we posed for a family photo. As we sat getting ordered to sit this way, lean in more here, move our […]

Freaky Friday #26

Today is Friday and that means it’s Freaky Friday. If you need to know more about this journal writing challenge please read the First Freaky Friday entry.
Today I want you to recall a time when you were either bullied or the bully. It’s ok, I won’t ask you to reveal which you were. This […]

Lost in My Journal

Don’t you just love it when you have a journal writing session where you lose yourself in time? I had such a session earlier this evening. My daughter often wants to do a little shopping for herself on a Thursday night, and as she doesn’t drive yet, I take her up the road. There is […]

Journal Magic

I don’t know why, but for some reason I’ve never gotten around to sharing Journal Magic with you before. Sue Meyn has created a wonderful journal writing website, which is an excellent resource for all those interested in keeping or beginning a journal.
There are some interesting exercises, a forum, which looks a little lonely at […]
